Mitred corner tile transition, North London

Wall and Floor Tiling in North London

Wet room tiling, shower niches, large-format wall and floor tiling, and patterned layouts carried out with proper setting-out, clean edge finishing and controlled installation.

Our Approach

Good tiling starts with understanding the background properly. The substrate, the condition of the area, the level of movement, and the tile being used all affect how the installation should be prepared before tiling begins.

At Lucian Bathrooms, we assess walls and floors first and build the preparation around the space, the substrate, and the tile format. Whether the installation calls for boards, levelling compounds, waterproofing systems, membranes, or different adhesives, the preparation is chosen to support a stable and accurate result.

Preparation, product choice, and setting-out are treated as part of the same installation process. Levels are checked properly, reference lines are planned in advance, and the materials are matched to the surface and the type of tiling being carried out.

  • Joint spacing and tile size checked early to keep the pattern consistent.
  • Perimeter cuts planned to avoid awkward slivers at walls, skirtings, and openings.
  • Pattern direction carried cleanly through the full installation.
  • Alignment checked continuously to keep joints, angles, and repeats under control.
  • Final finish balanced so the pattern reads properly across the whole space.

Featured North London Tiling Reviews

We first hired Lucian to convert a small toilet room into a fully functional shower room. Since then, he has tiled eight bathrooms for us across different properties. The quality of workmanship has always been consistent, with great attention to detail and a very high standard of finish.

Lucian’s work is meticulous and of high quality. His attention to detail in ensuring all the foundations were correct before the new installation was impressive. A trustworthy and highly skilled specialist.

Lucian did my bathroom back in 2021 and it still looks the same as the day it was renovated — no leaks, nothing failing. He did the whole scope — plastering, waterproofing, plumbing, tiling and electrics. His attention to detail was excellent.

Our Process

How Our Tiling Services Work

1

Survey & Assessment

We check the surface condition, levels, substrate, measurements and overall layout before any tiling begins. Tile size, cut positions, edge details and transitions are reviewed early so the installation is planned properly from the start.

2

Surface Preparation

Walls and floors are prepared to suit the substrate and the type of tiling being carried out. Where required, this includes levelling, strengthening backgrounds, waterproofing, correcting build-up and getting the surface ready for a stable installation.

3

Precise Installation

Tiles are set out from reference lines and installed with the layout, spacing and finish already planned in advance. Depending on the job, this may include large-format tiling, pattern work, mitres, trims, niches, levelling systems and controlled cuts around openings and edges.

4

Grouting & Final Finish

Once the installation is complete, tiles are grouted, sealed where needed and all finishing details are completed. The final stage is about tightening the full installation so lines stay clean, edges read properly and the overall finish is ready for everyday use.

Tiling Services FAQs

Everything you need to know about professional tiling in North London.

Our tiling starts from £50 per square metre. Final pricing depends on tile format, layout, pattern work, mitres, large-format handling, floor preparation and overall complexity. After assessing the space, we provide a clear quote based on the actual installation.

The starting price covers professional tile installation. Preparation work such as levelling, substrate correction, waterproofing, removal of existing finishes, underfloor heating preparation or additional structural work is priced separately where required. Each quote is built around the condition of the space, the tile type and the layout.

Yes. Preparation depends on the substrate, the condition of the area and the type of tiling being carried out. Before tiling begins, we check levels, background strength, existing finishes and whether boards, levelling compounds, waterproofing or other corrective work are needed. Tiling only starts once the surface is properly prepared for the installation.

No. We do not normally recommend tiling over existing tiles. Removing the old finish allows us to inspect the substrate properly, correct levels, deal with movement or adhesion issues and prepare the background for a more reliable installation.

Yes. We install electric underfloor heating beneath floor tiles where specified. The tiling build-up is prepared to suit the system, and all electrical connections are carried out by a qualified electrician. The system is tested before and after tiling to confirm it is working properly.

Yes. We carry out standalone wall and floor tiling for bathrooms, kitchens, splashbacks, hallways and other internal spaces across North London. That includes wet room floors, shower niches, large-format tiling and pattern work, without the project needing to be part of a full bathroom renovation.
